I like the decor of this place. It has an air of openness that is nice and pleasant to the eye - but the main reason I was there was for the coffee and food. The coffee was blah, although they did leave a pot on the table, which was great. This particular blend left the dreaded after taste. You know the one - when the dog does his business in a place they shouldn't. The overall service was also very good. Wait staff was friendly and constantly checking in. I ordered the waffle special, which had caramelized bananas and maple syrup bacon on top. Also got the muffin of the day, cranberry and perhaps something else inside. The muffin was fair. Nothing special. It was moist and had a good amount of cranberry in it but didn't wow. The waffle was light and airy, a quality component when putting the sweets on top of it. I like to taste the flavor of the product and would not want to ruin it with syrup. The bacon had a nice flavor and was a good compliment but overall the dish was really super sweet without anything acidic to take that edge off. Even without syrup, it felt like it was a tad too much. It wasn't bad by any means and the overall experience was decent. I also asked for a side of well-done sourdough toast. Unfortunately, it came out under-done. If I ever head out that way again, I would like to give them a second go to see if I just ordered the wrong thing for my tastes or it is just an ok place to have breakfast.

I'm a big big fan of breakfast places! I know like my hubby says you can't mess up breakfast...yet I beg to differ. Breakfast can be very bland even though it's easy to cook. I feel like it needs some TLC when made na mean =) On the way to this place we past another breakfast place about a mile away on 3rd street. Many cars in front of that place and I felt like man it looks like a mom and pop breakfast joint I kinda wanna check that place out. See breakfast with some TLC. We get to First Watch and there's plenty of parking space. Even though it seemed a little packed. The nice young lady opened the door for us and greeted us with a cheery smile at 845 am. She took our names and we sat down on a bench while looking at the menu. It was pretty busy. We got sat in about 5 mins. Ordered a coffee that she poured right away. Yes they had the "good" cream. I LOVE IT already. I hate using regular cream and sugar I'm all about that foo foo cream for my coffee. Oh and there were a few well behaved babies and kids including mine =) They have high chairs woohoo!! Me and the hubby both ordered the Acapulco express and 2 plain pancakes on the side. I remember being very full after our meal but it wasn't with a bunch of TLC. The homestyle potatoes were not like mimis didn't have much flavor. It was like something I can make at home which is pretty plain and simple. The pancakes were huge so me and the hubby shared but I still feel like The Fox makes the best pancakes so far. What I did like was the fact that they served egg whites! and gluten free options. I never really cared about gluten free option but now that my baby is supposedly allergic to wheat it's just better to get gluten free products. The service was good. Prompt. Quick. Yet it wasn't that one waiter that cracks jokes with you or makes you feel at home. Maybe it's cause they first opened and they are working out the kinks. I hate to say this but thinking more about it, it can be more of an upgrade of Denny's just waaaaaay cleaner, quicker service, and better food...just not with the TLC

I've been here several times. It's a good deal for the price. It's not gourmet or anything but it's delicious. I love the key west egg crepe. It's fluffy and lots of food. You get the crepe with turkey and avocado, potatoes and an English muffin. It gets busy on Saturday and Sunday. Great quick stop for lunch. They have half soup/salad with half sandwich.

I love the food here. I usually get a quinoa bowl but today I tried the Super food Kale salad, it was perfect. Roasted carrot was a great flavor with chicken bread, kale and greens, pine nuts, I had the cherries instead of cranberries and it was a great mix of flavors.

My family and I were here visiting and were recommended this place. Food for a party of 6 took 40 minutes to arrive and was all cold. The service was not great and it wasn't even very busy.

Went last Saturday morning. The restaurant was not busy. My food was obviously burnt - they turned that side down. Left with not one word acknowledging this (full plate of burned food). Won't go back.

Happy to find yummy and healthy food in a sea of jacksonville applebees and ruby tuesdays. We had the tomato basil soup, veg soup, pecan chicken salad, chicken sandwich, and butternut squash quinoa bowl. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. The staff were attentive and friendly. The only thing that I didn't like was that we got there close to closing time and so they wouldn't make another batch of decaf coffee when I requested it. Also, the soups were not very warm when they arrive so we had to send them back to be reheated.

Awesome brunch place near Jacksonville Beach! We went on a Sunday morning right with the church crowd, but it moved quickly and we only had to wait about 15-20 minutes. Our waiter was very nice (I wish I could remember his name) and the orange juice was awesome and freshly squeezed. For food, I got the pesto chicken quinoa bowl. It was aaaawesome! Tangy and creamy and super filling. My friend got the beefeater sandwich with Italian wedding soup - I thought that was just okay. The rest of their menu looked awesome...I wanted to try everything but alas I only have so much room in my stomach. If I ever go back to Jax I will definitely stop by again.

We always stop by here when we are in Florida!!! My husband adores the cherry chicken quinoa bowl, the chicken is tender and the feta cheese adds a salty flavor. I love the turkey and egg white omelet. Every time and every location, the staff is friendly, the establishment is clean and it is a great place to take the children. (Mine never complain about pancakes the size of their head).

You must have the pecan dijon salad , it is the best ever. Everything here is fresh made daily , the service is fabulous and if you can, enjoy the outdoors seating. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and brunch, closing at 2:30pm. Truly wish they were open for dinner.

A unique and healthy menu. Quinoa, market fresh ingredients, fresh squeezed orange juice. I highly recommend it.

A very delightful breakfast experience. Service was great, coffee was perfect ( I am a picky coffee drinker). I ordered the Eggs Ham and Potatoes. The eggs were served Sunny side up....WOW, just the way I like them. About the Potatoes, Most eateries have a problem with potatoes, over seasoned, cut in large chunks, under or over cooked. First Watch knows Potatoes, In my opinion, they are the best in Jacksonville... Wait Staff was very cheerful and energetic, check out was like saying goodby to a new friend.

Typical breakfast spot that is somewhere between Panera and Denny's. Service is pretty slow, at least on the occasions I've visited. Decent selection of food items for all palates. Look for coupons on the website. Please be advised that I have updated the review by one star based off the fact that the restaurant commented on my review. Interaction is always appreciated!

My faith has been restored in First Watch. Went for the pancakes this time - bacon & cheddar - and was pleasantly surprised. While I made a valiant effort at my stack of two, they weren't kidding (on the menu) when they said they were humungous. I could have ordered just one and been more than satisfied. There was crispy flavorful bacon in every bite. Only wished there was a little more cheddar as that flavor didn't come through as well. Definitely will have to ask to add more cheddar if possible next time. Will have to remember those next time.

Another great breakfast at First Watch. Greek Fetish omelet ... Delicious Ask for Hunter for great service

I liked the pitcher of water and coffee that gets served here. It saves time for the waiters going back and forth trying to keep up with filling up glasses and leaves time to focus on serving food. I had the healthy turkey omelette which I thought was only okay. Turkey was unimpressive, didn't seem that fresh, but I thought the sautéed onions tasted good. My boyfriend had the Belgian waffles which he enjoyed and one of the hash platters which he said was okay. He got it with over easy eggs and I can imagine that it would have worked better as an overall dish with scrambled. His came with bacon chz and potatoes I believe. I would get something different if I came back

Looked this place up on Yelp while i was at Target. Looks kind of like a Denny's inside but more modern. The staff was very friendly. Coffee was pretty good and I love that they leave a pot on the table. The menu is strange. Maybe I'm spoiled but there was a good amount of meals on it that looked well...weird. Take a look at it. You'll see. My wife had the chicken salad which she loved. The bread is really good. I ordered eggs Benedict with tomato and ham This was where I had a problem. The ham wad ice cold. I thought they made a mistake but was told that is the way they serve it. It was gross. So I think if you are careful with what you order this place can be good for a quick breakfast.

Now I just had some time to kill so why not eat. Isn't that what "A Fat Kid" does. Now we have been looking for another good breakfast spot and I haven't tried First Watch yet. Now the place looks brand new nice aln clean and shiny. The staff was helpful maybe a little pushy but you know get them in get them out and move on. The food: I ordered the Caps etc. and when they came out it looked great. Very fresh mushroom caps and plenty of cheeses. The eggs were cooked perfectly nice firm whites with runny yolks. The potatoes were slightly under for me but that's me. I prefer mine crispy and close to burnt. Then again I'm not in the kitchen. It was a good breakfast and not very expensive either. Heck, breakfast with coffee for about 10 bucks. That's me

Cool place, lots of variety on the menu. Very good food and it came fast even for my group of 8 people. Try the Parma Hash.

Decent spot for brunch. I wish they had more vegetarian options. A little soy sausage would go a long way here. They do have good add ons like fresh avocado & smoky crimini mushrooms. I had a hash & potatoes weren't cooked thoroughly, so I recommend staying away from that.

My first time here, and I'm pleasantly surprised. Had heard some not so great things from friends - but it was for a quick lunch. The restaurant was clean and smelled good. The seasonal roasted butternut squash quinoa bowl was awesome and gluten intolerant friendly. The only down side was the water didn't taste filtered and the POS system went down when we tried to pay. Otherwise a great casual experience!

Call me crazy but this restaurant has captured me like no other. Today is the third time I've eaten here this week. It's perfectly clean, quiet, friendly and the food is tops. Everyone has plenty of space and there's lotsa sunshine flowing in but yet it's not warm inside. This place ROCKS!

Went there after church yesterday for lunch. I had a 1/2 grilled veggie sandwich and 1/2 order of the pecan Dijon chicken salad. The sandwich was one of the best veggie sandwiches I've ever had! It had cremini mushrooms, pesto, spinach, mozzarella, and onions. The salad had a warm Dijon dressing served with a bed of greens topped with pecans, bacon, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. My daughter enjoyed the Italian wedding soup with a roast beef sandwich- she said both were delish! My son wasn't in the mood for the kids menu items- so they made him a kids portion BLT by special request. Ample portion sizes and friendly service will bring us back!

The food was good, I had the oatmeal and turkey sausage, but coffee so/so. The only bad thing was the waiter. He was slow, sloppy, maybe hungover? I don't like being forgotten when there are only three tables in the place with customers.

Chikichanga is amazing for a satisfying brunch meal. Not too heavy not too light! Definitely choose First Watch over Metro Diner.

We stopped here on our back home to Port Orange and were pleasantly surprised by this little non-chain restaurant. They are breakfast/lunch only and have a great menu. Portions were good . Pecan pancake was lovely! Coffee pot left on table was nice. Service was good. I wish we could have tried lunch, but too full from breakfast!

A healthier breakfast/brunch place. There's always a wait on weekends, but they offer free coffee to keep you happy while you wait. I've been to a few different locations in Florida and Pennsylvania, and the one here at home is the best.

Always good breakfast and great service! Try the lean machine for a filling low cal breakfast. They have great granola, too. Large portions and good prices.

One of my favorites! I always get the turkey sandwich! I love the way they toast the bread (small things matter!!) and I love the healthy options! Great service and atmosphere! I recommend every try this place out!

We love breakfast out. Breakfast or lunch here about twice a month. My family loves First Watch...I think it's "ok". Pretty good selection of breakfast choices from traditional to unique, but feels kinda "corporate" to me, but the service tries to give it that local feel. Guess I'm a mom and pops snob when it comes to breakfast. Still glad to have it close by.

I go to the First Watch Cafe near my house (Hodges/Beach area) all the time and they are great. This location (near the Target at the beaches) has consistently been bad though. Got the pecan Dijon chicken salad to go and I asked for my chicken and dressing on the side. No big deal right? The other location does this regularly without me even asking. The only reason I specify this at the beaches location is because the last time I got a salad here, they put the chicken and dressing on top of the salad and it was soggy by the time I got home. Anyway... Go to pick it up, get a couple minutes away, and they call to tell me they forgot to put the chicken and dressing in the bag. So I turn around, and they give me the little side bowl (that normally contains the chicken AND dressing) and drove off again. Got home, and it was just chicken in there, no dressing to be seen. Won't be back, this is the 2nd time I've had an issue at this location. I'll stick to the one by my house.

This was my first time here and I really liked it. I had the tomato soup and southwest salad combine lunch deal and it was all very tasty. I will definitely be returning in the future.

I LOVE this place. But will not be returning to this particular location. Everyone in there looks like someone just killed their puppy, and before my butt even touches the seat, they are asking me if I know what I want to eat, umm no, I haven't even sat down yet or looked at the menu. Then after I get my food, I don't see the waitress again until she drops off our check and I'm not even done eating. I've been there several times and its the same each time. But I go to the one on hodges and they are friendly, smiling and not trying to rush you out the door so they can flip their tables.

My husband and I frequent this restaurant, generally for breakfast. The food seems fresh and healthy choices are available. Staff is friendly and attentive. For whatever reason though, Weekends bring inconsistency with the food. Also the "healthy side" wrap needs a serious trip back to the drawing board. Honestly it presents like a half hearted attempt to wrap an austere, bland omelet in an non pliable tortilla Other than weekend inconsistencies , this is the healthiest breakfast menu on the beach and for that we are grateful.

First time here. Tried it early on a Saturday. I saw a lot of people seated but it wasn't loud inside. The service was great and the food came out fairly quick. I had the baconado egg white omelette. It was outstanding. Comes with English muffins and diced potatoes. The food was not greasy and it wasn't "heavy". Very fresh ingredients.

was hoping for a great breakfast. many things about the place were very good. they appeared to have great menu selections with healthy option, nice decor, clean restaurant, great service. nice touches - a whole pitcher of coffee and/or water at your table. unfortunately, what we came for, a great breakfast, we did not get. my husband ordered an omelet served with potatoes and english muffin. they got the english muffin right. the omelet seemed like it was steamed rather than cooked, and the potatoes were so boooooring. i ordered a scramble egg dish with bacon and avocado, potatoes and english muffin. portion was small, but that's okay cause i wouldn't have wanted any more. it was so tasteless! there were quite a few customers there. maybe these are first timers, as the restaurant is new in our area. i noticed the lady at a nearby table only ate a forkfull of her scrambled medley. i've heard the pancakes are good. if i give them another try, that's what i'll get.
